The first week of the fall semester is finally over! It's time for Permias annual fall callout. As the Indonesian students began to gather in Armstrong Hall B061 at 6 PM, the Permias members are busy preparing for the presentations, icebreaker games, and food. After our very own Purdue Permias president, Vanessa Sukanta, gave a quick introductory greeting, this year MC, Kevin Margatan and Raymond Tjahjono, introduce the new students to the different bodies of Purdue Permias, including the soccer and basketball teams, as well as, Lafayette City Blessing Church, a Christian church being leaded by an Indonesian pastor and his family, and Mudika, the Indonesian catholic students organization.
Following the introduction of the current Purdue Permias, it was the new students' turn to introduce themselves. Moreover, exciting games had been prepared to loosen the atmosphere; after all, who doesn't like games? The less fortunate ones were "punished" and asked to dance after a well-known Korean girl group. Everyone sure had a fair share of laughter! By then, the food was ready to serve. It was a modest yet delicious dinner of traditional Indonesian fried rice, accompanied by a mouthwatering & spicy sambal, and watermelon&jelly for dessert. One of our sponsors, LaTea Bubble Tea, had also generously prepare their famous classic Bubble Milk Tea for the callout. Those who had pre-ordered this year Permias' limited varsity jacket and membership card were also able to pick up the orders, while those who missed the pre-order dateline were welcomed to purchase the jackets and cards. Overall it was a wonderful start to kick off this new fall semester. We hope that everyone of you who came had fun and for those who did not come, we hope to see you in the next Purdue Permias events. If you have any feedbacks, critiques, or questions regarding the callout or other stuffs , please feel free to shoot us a message or contact our board members; we really appreciate it and will try our best to provide your needs. Thank you very much, the callout won't be a success without all of your supports. Good luck with the fall semester. Boiler Up!
