The fall semester in indeed one busy semester! On this second Saturday of November, we had our second annual food festival. The goal of this event is not only to raise funds for Permias Purdue, but also to introduce and share several of the exquisite Indonesian delicacies. Thank you for everyone who had came to Neil Armstrong Atrium today to join us in this culinary adventure!
It was indeed a long eventful day! As the door of Purdue's France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center, co-rec, opened at 8 this morning, it also marked the registration for our annual Purdue Cup. Indonesian students from various parts of the Midwest region began to crowd the co-rec to prepare for the games which started at 9 a.m.. In total there are seven teams competing in this year, many whom had spent hours driving to the humble West Lafayette town this weekend.
This year, we had the privilege to hold all three of the sport competitions, badminton, basketball, and soccer, in the 3rd floor of the co-rec and Turf Recreation Exercise Center for the soccer final match. There are six teams for each competitions, divided into two pools. The teams in their respective pools will compete for the first and second places before they're able to face the teams from the opposing pool in the semifinal and final match.
Aside from being able to mingle and strengthen our friendships with each other while having competitive yet friendly games, today's attendees were also able to indulge themselves in the delicious lunch meal of nasi ayam telur balado + bakwan; or for others who prefer lighter snacks, homemade cheese danish. Priorities were given to those who had pre-ordered, or depending on the availability, for those who missed the pre-order deadline.
The following are the results of each competition:
Last but not least, we would like to thank Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (or KJRI) in Chicago for being our generous sponsor this year. We really appreciate your support. We hope that we can maintain our relationship and work together again in the near future.
Congratulation to all of the winners and the rest of the teams who had given their best! Thank you very much for the all of the participating school, this event will not be a success without any of your support. We really appreciate for the time and efforts everyone had poured in.
As the host for this Purdue Cup, we realize that there are still many flaws and areas to improve on. Sincerely, we apologize for any dissatisfaction. Moreover, please feel free to contact us if you have any critiques or feedback.
Once again, thank you and we hope to be able to meet with everyone again in the near future. Safe trip to all those driving back to their respective destination, all the best!
