Summer is just around the corner! On this sunny Saturday, we gathered at Happy Hollow Park to have our annual end-of-year-BBQ. Although it is on the Saturday before dead week, thank you for everyone who had made time to meet up and have a study break with fellow Permias family. We hope that you all had a great time and satisfied tummy. Good luck everyone for finals!

It's that time of the year again for our annual Indonesian Festival. Upon entering, the visitors are welcomed with the delicious smell of traditional Indonesian cuisines. Pempek, mi ayam, nagasari, es teler, are just a few of the various delicacies available for sale. For those who doesn't feel like eating immediately, they could look around at the exhibition, take a picture at the photo booth, or go to Javanese calligraphy stand to have their name written in traditional Javanese for souvenir.
At 2 p.m., the crowds had assembled in front of the stage, looking forward for the performance by our very own students. The first performance was a play which is based on Indonesian legend based in West Sumatra, Malin Kundang, with an opening speech by Andriana Supandy, the Consul General for Indonesia in Chicago. The play was then followed by a traditional dance, Saman dance. Both the play and the dance performance drew large applause from the audience of different backgrounds and ages. The Permias Purdue Band, No Turn on Red, also entertained the visitors with both Indonesian and American songs until the festival ended. Audience were also welcomed to join singing with the band.
Thank you everyone for helping out and coming! We hope all of you had a lot of fun, and keep alert for our next event!
Happy Chinese New Year! 祝你新年快乐! To welcome the year of the horse, Permias held a Chinese New Year potluck dinner at The Cottages on Lindberg. After a long week of school, everyone had the chance to gather and catch up with one another. ..............
